Cleaning Up a Calgary Basement Fire

Restoring a structure after a fire is a long process that can be quite hazardous. Fire can weaken structural supports making the building a fall risk. Luckily on this job, the fire wasn't that severe, most the damage was actually caused by smoke. The smoke scent can penetrate porous materials and linger. This is the reason that we have to open up cavities such as the ceiling and under the stairs.  Next, every surface needs to be scrubbed and washed with the appropriate cleaners and the space needs to be contained. Air Scrubbers create negative air pressure to push the "dirty" air through a HEPA filter which removes >99% of particulates in the air.
